Warriors Fight Against CancerPosted by Lynne Talks Local
On the heels of 2012′s success, The “PT WARRIORS” will participate again on Sunday October 13th, 2013 in the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer 5K. Paula, the team’s organizer and founder, will be carrying a survivor’s torch in the Flames of Hope Celebration at Waterfire on Saturday evening before the walk with the state house lit in a hue of pink to honor the great cause.
To garner more support as the walk nears, The PT Warriors — a team of 20 Collette employees, washed 45 vehicles and raised a total of $560. The car wash marked the first of a few fun events to raise money for the team to help educate and enhance awareness for breast cancer.
Says Paula: “Cancer continues to adversely affect so many of our family and friends. In small ways, we all make a big difference in the lives of others. This is a great example of how working together can be a very powerful, very positive thing.”
