Giving Back at Little Heart Hero DayPosted by Lynne Talks Local
Glady Michael and Kristine Chochrek from our Marketing Department took some time Sunday to give back at the annual American Heart Association’s Little Heart Hero Day. This special day is a day of fun for the children and their families that have been impacted by pediatric heart disease.
It was a great, sunny day with a lot of hope… and a lot of heart. Glady shares:
“We arrived at the private event set up at the back of the park and were greeted by Sara, the Corporate Events Director, and Kristine and I each designed a Frisbee to show the children different designs. As the children began designing their own Frisbees, we helped them. One of the kids drew a globe on her Frisbee… she said she got the idea from our Collette Foundation t-shirts. I thought that was so cute.
Soon after, the kids were off to explore the park. It was so great to be a part of the ball at the Newport Mansion a few months prior because Kristine and I recognized the mother who gave her speech at that event about her son, as well as other parents who were there that night. We talked with them all and it was just a rewarding experience.
This is one of my favorite charities to volunteer at, and it is my third year participating. It is so humbling to see these kids who are full of so much life and know that they were not born healthy and still have medical issues to face each day. I am so pleased to have been a part of this day again and look forward to next year.”
