Collette Foundation responds to Christchurch Earthquake

On Tuesday, February 22, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit downtown Christchurch, devastating the city center and leaving thousands without shelter, water and other major necessities. Amidst the rubble, rescue teams are continuing to work around the clock searching for survivors and assisting those in need.

To show support for friends, partners, vendors and colleagues in New Zealand the Collette Foundation has pledged to support the Salvation Army in their efforts. The Salvation Army has mobilized and is working diligently serving meals, manning crisis centers and continuing to search for survivors.

The Collette Foundation will match all donations made by employees, clients, partners and friends up to $15,000USD. “New Zealand and it’s people have given us so much, it is important  that we show our support in their time of need. ” says Daniel Sullivan, Jr., Collette Vacations’ President and CEO.

As always, 100% of all donations made through the Collette Foundation will go directly to those in need.  If you’d like to join in the efforts of the Collette Foundation and make a donation you can do so by writing a check (please write ‘New Zealand’ in the memo line) to the Collette Foundation Attn: Donna Warner, 180 Middle Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860. Or, alternatively, click on the donate button on the right hand side of the screen.

Thank you to the Collette Foundation for giving us a vehicle to help the wonderful community of Christchurch in its time of great need.

We were the beneficiaries the legendary Kiwi kindness and generosity a week before the quake when a medical emergency required my husband to be hospitalized there for a few days. From the medical community to the hotel community to Air New Zealand community, we owe a huge debt of gratitude. Donating to this cause is our small, but heartfelt, way of expressing our thanks!
