Client Feedback from Visits
To date we've had many clients visit the Collette Foundation sites in Peru, Mexico, and South Africa. The clients were notified before departure about the visit and information was provided as to items that each site is in need of. The feedback and client involvement has been wonderful. In fact one couple from the Midwest was so touched by their visit to the Granja Hogar de Los Ninos in Chihuahua, Mexico that they have already donated to the Collette Foundation to provide some technological equipment to the school! Many of our travelers have expressed that their foundation visit was one of the major highlights of their vacation, giving them a personal connection to the destination.

The Collette Foundation announces its new project destinations for 2008!
Tibet, India, Brazil, Canada and New England are the destinations for 2008 projects. Applications are available by emailing info@collettefoundation.org. Any Collette employee who has over 1 year with the company may apply for placement on a project team, and an employee who has been with Collette for 2 years may apply for placement as an Employee Ambassador. With the great success we've had with our projects in 2007 we are looking forward to a great 2008!
We will be keeping all current project teams in place for the 2008 season as well.

Making ground outside Nairobi
Team Kenya, which includes Collette employees Carol Wright, Connie Fortanbary, Tanya Lopes, Sue Rovinski and Tina Sousa have made great strides to influence the lives of children in Kenya. They have taken on an amazing project in funding the building of a new preschool for the Tenderfeet Education Center. Currently the 55 students attend school in their tin building made of 4 rooms. The children cannot play outside as there are too many dangers (broken glass, garbage, etc).
Team Kenya has funded the purchase of a plot of land that will house a new school and a playground in a safe area for the children. Next steps include reviewing the plans for the new school building and funding the construction. Our clients are able to visit the Tenderfeet students in their current school and learn about the upcoming Collette Foundation project!

In August, I had the opportunity to represent the Collette Foundation Australia Team, and visit our two partner sites - Drum Atweme and the Alexandria Park School. Drum Atweme is a self-funded musical group created to keep a positive influence on the lives of the Aboriginal youth as they are often dragged down by poverty and alcoholism. The girls were so full of talent and enthusiasm! The Collette Foundation is providing new uniforms for all of the girls in the group. They are going to look great in their upcoming performances.
Alexandria Park is an inner city school with a diverse population of kids, many of them aboriginal. I was able to bring a group of Collette travelers with me on this visit. The Principal and her assistants took our entire group on a tour of the facility and answered a lot of questions. We were fortunate enough to have the kindergarten classes sing 2 songs for us at the end of our tour. The group leaders loved the kids and the facility, and I am confident that all our travelers will as well! We have already sent them funds for gym equipment and in 2008, we will be providing additional funds for the purchase of new computers for the kids to use.

We have a great opportunity to pass our Christmas spirit to children in need throughout the world! Thinking of doing a secret santa or Christmas gift swap with your friends and family? Maybe this year try something different - we invite you to choose one of the Collette Foundation sites to sponsor instead of giving gifts. You will be able to provide some clothes to the children in Peru, or books to our children in Kenya. Your group donation will surely make a huge impact on the lives of children in our partner communities throughout the world. Simply select the destination you wish to sponsor and spread the word!
Some of the ways that your donations could make a difference:
- $50 will supply children in Peru with 2 months worth of vitamins
- $80 will support a needy family in Costa Rica for 1 month
- $100 will purchase a Hippo Water Roller for a needy community in South Africa
- $100 will supply the children in Kenya with 1 meal a day for 2 months
- $100 will provide Culturlann in Ireland with arts and crafts supplies for its children's programs
- $100 will purchase sleeping mattresses and blankets for a preschool in Knynsa
